Myofascial Release

Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM) provides for an additional treatment alternative to compliment the number of other services offered at Pure Motion Chiropractic & Rehab. With this technique, a tool is used to treat soft tissue disorders. 

How does it work? Through the use of these tools, myofascial restrictions and soft tissue adhesions can be detected. These adhesions can be brought about from a number of causes such as surgery, immobilization, and repeated strain. Once these areas of dysfunction and restriction are found, the tool is used to treat the area. With treatment, a local inflammatory response is initiated which in turn helps the body to get rid of inappropriate scar tissue and fibrotic build up. When this occurs, the treated structures undergo tissue remodeling, and healing can occur.
